Prayer for Hostages

מִי שֶׁבֵּרַךְ אֲבוֹתֵינוּ אַבְרָהָם יִצְחָק וְיַעֲקֹב, שָׂרָה רִבְקָה רָחֵל וְלֵאָה, הוּא יְבָרֵךְ וְיִשְׁמֹר וְיִנְצֹר אֶת הַחֲטוּפִים וְהַשְּׁבוּיִים (וּבְתוֹכָם [insert names of captives here]) וְיֵרָפֵא אֶת כָּל הַחוֹלִים וְהַפְּצוּעִים (וּבְתוֹכָם [insert names of sick and injured here]), וְיִשְׁמֹר אֶת חַיָּלֵי צְבָא הַהֲגָנָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל וְאַנְשֵׁי כּוֹחוֹת הַבִּטָּחוֹן הָעוֹמְדִים עַל מִשְׁמַר אַרְצֵנוּ (וּבְתוֹכָם [insert names of soldiers here]) בַּעֲבוּר שֶׁאָנוּ מִתְפַּלְּלִים בַּעֲבוּרָם. הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא יְמַלֵּא רְחָמִים עֲלֵיהֶם, וְיוֹצִיאֵם מֵאֲפֵלָה לְאוֹרָה, וִישִׁיבֵם מְהֵרָה לְחֵיק מִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיהֶם בִּבְרִיאוּת וּבְשָׁלוֹם. וִיקֻיַּם בָּהֶם וּבְכָל יוֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב: וְיָשְׁבוּ אִישׁ תַּחַת גַּפְנוֹ וְתַחַת תְּאֵנָתוֹ וְאֵין מַחֲרִיד כִּי־פִי ה' צְבָאוֹת דִּבֵּר. וְנֹאמַר אָמֵן.

May the One who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah, bless, protect, and guard the kidnapped and captives (including: ), heal the sick and injured (including: ), and protect the members of the Israel Defense Forces and its security services, (including: _) who are protecting our land, as we pray for them. May the Holy Blessed One be filled with compassion for them, bring them from darkness to light, and return them to the embrace of their families in health and in peace. May the Holy One fulfill for them and for all inhabitants of the land what is written in scripture: “Each person shall sit under their own vine and fig tree and none shall make them afraid, for the LORD of Hosts has spoken.” (Micah 4:4) And let us say: Amen.
